Modelling Dynamic Recrystallization of A356 Aluminum Alloy during Hot Deformation [PDF]

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The flow stress and dynamic recrystallization behavior of A356 aluminum alloy was studied, with a strain rate ranging from 0.001 s−1 to 1 s−1 and temperature ranging from 300 to 500 °C. Both the true stress–strain curves and microstructure examination of

Microstructural simulation of dynamic recrystallization [PDF]

open access: yesActa Metallurgica et Materialia, 1992
A Monte Carlo model for dynamic recrystallization has been developed from earlier models used to simulate static recrystallization and grain growth. The model simulates dynamic recrystallization by adding recrystallization nuclei and stored energy continuously with time.

Inferring dynamic recrystallization in ferrite using the kinetics of static recrystallization [PDF]

open access: yesMetallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2002
A general relationship between the kinetics of dynamic and static recrystallization is developed. It is predicted that conventional dynamic recrystallization will occur whenever the deformation time exceeds the adjusted start time for static recrystallization. This approach is verified using data for austenite and lead.

Dynamic recrystallization of pure zinc during high strain-rate compression at ambient temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Due to limited slip systems, forming of Zn-based alloys is typically conducted at elevated temperatures which consumes energy and may degrade mechanical properties.

Mechanisms of Dynamic Recrystallization in Aluminum Alloys [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Science Forum, 2014
Mechanisms of dynamic recrystallization operating at severe plastic deformation in a wide temperature range are reviewed for aluminum alloys. The main mechanism of grain refinement in all aluminum alloys is continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX).

Simulation and experimental study of dynamic recrystallization process during friction stir vibration welding of magnesium alloys

open access: yesTransactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China, 2021
A two-dimensional cellular automaton (CA) model was utilized to analyze the effect of mechanical vibration on microstructure evolution of AZ91 alloy during friction stir welding (FSW). The simulated results, namely grain topology, grain size distribution,
