Design of a high SNR electronic heart sound sensor based on a MEMS bionic hydrophone
Since most of the contact conduction type of heart sound sensors don’t take into account the acoustic signal attenuation problem caused by the heart sound signal transmitting to a sensor whose filling materials’ impedance is different to human soft ...

Dynamical Dorfman Testing with Quarantine
We consider dynamical group testing problem with a community structure. With a discrete-time SIR (susceptible, infectious, recovered) model, we use Dorfman's two-step group testing approach to identify infections, and step in whenever necessary to inhibit infection spread via quarantines.

Dynamic Prioritization in Regression Testing [PDF]
Although used extensively in industry, regression testing is challenging from both a process management as well as a resource management perspective. In literature, proposed test case prioritization techniques assume a constant pool of test cases with non-changing coverage during the regression testing process, and therefore they work with a fixed ...

An optimal statistical testing policy for software reliability demonstration of safety-critical systems [PDF]
When software reliability demonstration of safety-critical systems by statistical testing is treated as a Test, Analyse and Fix (TAAF) process, an optimal testing policy can be found, which maximises the probability of success of the whole process, over ...

Modal testing and FE model tuning of a lively footbridge structure [PDF]
Despite huge advances in numerical modelling of civil engineering structures in recent decades, finite element models for footbridges should still be developed and used with caution when evaluating modal properties of these structures.

Dynamic Tunable Deflection of Radiation Based on Epsilon-Near-Zero Material
Epsilon-near-zero nanoantennas can be used to tune the far-field radiation pattern due to their exceptionally large intensity-dependent refractive index. In this study, we propose a hybrid optical antenna based on indium tin oxide (ITO) to enable optical

CO2 concentration detection based on TDLAS technology [PDF]
With the growth of industrialization and energy consumption, a large number of CO2 gas emissions lead to global warming and cause a series of environmental problems, which have a great negative impact on the global ecosystem.

Development of a Simplified Dynamic Testing Device for Turfed Sports Surfaces [PDF]
The response of natural turf surfaces to loading changes with the force and loading rate applied. Quantification of surface behaviour to athlete loading is complicated by the lack of devices that replicate forces, stresses and loading rates of ...
