Probing Ultrafast Coherent Bandgap Modulation in Monolayer WSe2 by Nonlinear Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work sheds light on how resonant nonlinear optics blursthe line between perturbative and non‐perturbative nonlinear optics. Measured deviationsfrom the quadratic second‐harmonic scaling near the excitonic resonance arisefrom optical Stark and Bloch‐Siegert shifts. The experimental results arefurther underpinned by analytical and numerical analysis

AdaPDTW: An Efficient Abstract-Adaptive Piecewise Dynamic Time Warping for Time Series Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access
Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) offers precise similarity measure but suffers from high computational cost. To address this issue, we propose an abstract-adaptive PAR-DTW, which computes DTW in a low-dimensional piecewise abstract representation (PAR) space ...

Evaluation of Paleocene‐Eocene Thermal Maximum Carbon Isotope Record Completeness—An Illustration of the Potential of Dynamic Time Warping in Aligning Paleo‐Proxy Records

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
Variations in sedimentation rate, bioturbation, winnowing, and dissolution modify the deep‐sea sedimentary record, complicating the apparent relationship between stratigraphic depth and time of a geochemical proxy record and confounding the extraction of

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Deep Learning for Daily Peak Load Forecasting–A Novel Gated Recurrent Neural Network Combining Dynamic Time Warping

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Daily peak load forecasting is an essential tool for decision making in power system operation and planning. However, the daily peak load is a nonlinear, nonstationary, and volatile time series, which makes it difficult to be forecasted accurately.

Binary Dynamic Time Warping in Linear Time

open access: yes, 2021
Dynamic time warping distance (DTW) is a widely used distance measure between time series $x, y \in ^n$. It was shown by Abboud, Backurs, and Williams that in the \emph{binary case}, where $| | = 2$, DTW can be computed in time $O(n^{1.87})$. We improve this running time $O(n)$.
