NKX2‐1 Downstream Regulatory Structural Variants Explain a Substantial Proportion of Molecular Diagnoses in Patients With Benign Hereditary Chorea
Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
NKX2‐1–related disorders (NKX2‐1‐RDs) classically present with a triad of neurological, endocrine, and pulmonary manifestations, including benign hereditary chorea. However, in a fraction of patients, NKX2‐1 coding variants are not detected, and variants outside the NKX2‐1 locus have been reported.Robin Wijngaard, Lucy Dougherty‐de Miguel, German Demidov, Galuh Astuti, Amaia Lasa‐Aranzasti, Ana Cueto‐González, Marta Correa‐Vela, Carlos Lázaro‐Hernández, Charlotte A. Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
The mechanisms that predispose dopaminergic neurons (DAN) to degeneration in Parkinson's disease (PD) are incompletely understood. Objective
To perform an integrative multi‐omics reanalysis of single‐cell transcriptomic and epigenomic data to identify convergent alterations predisposing dopaminergic neurons to degeneration in ...Mirco Macchi, Aurélien Ginolhac, Tony Heurtaux, Borja Gomez‐Ramos, Lasse Sinkkonen, Enrico Glaab, on behalf of the NCER‐PD Consortium, Mariella Graziano, Alexandre Bisdorff, Rene Dondelinger, Elodie Thiry, Gelani Zelimkhanov, Guy Berchem, Liliana Vilas Boas, Linda Hansen, Martine Goergen, Nancy De Bremaeker, Nico Diederich, Romain Nati, Roxane Batutu, Sylvia Herbrink, Jochen Klucken, Rejko Krüger, Claire Pauly, Lukas Pavelka, Marijus Giraitis, Maria Fernanda Niño Uribe, Achilleas Pexaras, Alexander Hundt, Alexia Mendibide, Ana Festas Lopes, Angelo Ferrari, Brian Dewitt, Carlos Gamio, Estelle Henry, Gaël Hamot, Geeta Acharya, Hermann Thien, Ilsé Richard, Johanna Trouet, Kate Sokolowska, Katy Beaumont, Laura Georges, Lorieza Castillo, Lucie Remark, Maeva Munsch, Margaux Henry, Maud Theresine, Olga Kofanova, Olivia Roland, Pauline Lambert, Saïda Mtimet, Wim Ammerlaan, Anne Grünewald, Armin Rauschenberger, Clarissa P.C. Medicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
Glycogen synthase kinase‐3 (GSK‐3) is a central regulator of numerous cellular signaling pathways, with critical roles in metabolism, proliferation, differentiation, and tissue regeneration. This review explores the multifaceted effects of pharmacological GSK‐3 inhibition across multiple body districts, focusing on its highly context‐dependent Davide Schiroli, Alessia Merra, Chiara Marraccini, Lucia Merolle, Graziella Pellegrini, Eleonora Maurizi +5 morewiley +1 more sourceEpigenetic Regulation of Liver Fibrosis: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications
Portal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView. This review synthesizes the epigenetic mechanisms—DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non‐coding RNAs—that drive hepatic stellate cell activation and the progression of liver fibrosis. It further evaluates emerging therapeutic strategies targeting these epigenetic regulators, including DNA methyltransferase and histone deacetylase inhibitors ...Maryam Jadid Tavaf, Mahboobeh Ebrahimi Varkiani, Saeid Abroun, Pedram Asadi‐Sarabi, Shukoofeh Torabi, Elham Rismani, Mohammad Majd Hammour, Andreas K. Journal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1284-1296, 15 March 2025.Itaconic acid and its derivatives are a promising and bio‐based substitute for oil‐based polymers such as acrylates. In this study, the optimization of polymerization of itaconic acid esters is described by applying emulsion polymerization leading to high reaction conversions and low residual monomer contents.
