Understanding and Modeling Teams As Dynamical Systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2017
By its very nature, much of teamwork is distributed across, and not stored within, interdependent people working toward a common goal. In this light, we advocate a systems perspective on teamwork that is based on general coordination principles that are ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

A Discrete Mathematical Modeling of the Influence of Alcohol Treatment Centers on the Drinking Dynamics Using Optimal Control

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2020
In this paper, we propose a discrete mathematical model that describes the interaction between the classes of drinkers, namely, potential drinkers P, moderate drinkers M, heavy drinkers H, poor heavy drinkers Tp, rich heavy drinkers Tr, and quitters of ...

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Message spreading modeling from the perspective of social psychology, differential equation dynamics, and deep learning technique

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis
To gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics of message spreading, it is crucial to explore various methods of modeling this phenomenon. Given that message spreading is significantly influenced by social media, we propose a modified spreading ...

An approach to logical-mathematical computer modeling of linear and nonlinear dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The paper deals with the problem of modeling linear and nonlinear dynamical systems using information technologies and programming. The processes of modeling, synthesis and inference of solutions to problems are considered, and the possibility of their ...

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Universal Dynamical Steps in the Exact Time-Dependent Exchange-Correlation Potential

open access: yes, 2012
We show that the exact exchange-correlation potential of time-dependent density-functional theory displays dynamical step structures that have a spatially non-local and time non-local dependence on the density.
