Atomic structure and formation mechanism of a newly discovered charge density wave in the m = 2 monophosphate tungsten bronze

open access: yesIUCrJ
The m = 2 member of the monophosphate tungsten bronze family had been thought to be the only one without an electronic instability at low temperature.

Generalized Reconfigurable Memristive Dynamical System (MDS) for Neuromorphic Applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2015
This study firstly presents (i) a novel general cellular mapping scheme for two dimensional neuromorphic dynamical systems such as bio-inspired neuron models, and (ii) an efficient mixed analog-digital circuit, which can be conveniently implemented on a ...

Natural Killer Cells in Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paediatric soft tissue sarcomas (pSTS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising in tissues of mesenchymal origin. The role of natural killer (NK) cells in pSTS remains poorly understood, with evidence fragmented across small preclinical studies and early‐phase clinical trials.

A dynamic model for a study of diabetes

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling, 2009
In this paper a dynamic model for diabetes prevalence in a country is analyzed. The goal of this study is to estimate the prevalence of diabetes in a hypothetical community. The model is formulated using a difference-algebraic equation and then singular system theory is used to obtain the solution.

Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Dynamical Mean Field Studies of Infinite Layer Nickelates: Physics Results and Methodological Implications

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
This article summarizes recent work on the many-body (beyond density functional theory) electronic structure of layered rare-earth nickelates, both in the context of the materials themselves and in comparison to the high-temperature superconducting (high-

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Dynamical Studies of Equations from the Gambier Family

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2011
We consider the hierarchy of higher-order Riccati equations and establish their connection with the Gambier equation. Moreover we investigate the relation of equations of the Gambier family to other nonlinear differential systems.

Modeling and analysis for dynamical Doppler shifts on terahertz communication signals propagating in inhomogeneous hypersonic plasma sheath [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
Previous studies have shown that terahertz (THz) signals could penetrate hypersonic plasma sheaths. Thus, it is considered to be a potential solution to the “blackout” problem.
