Position Over Composition: Positional Isomerism Enables Encapsulation‐Independent Intrinsic Stability in a Conjugated Polymer

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Repositioning side chains (para→meta) provides a composition‐invariant handle to program conjugated‐polymer chain geometry. The resulting worm‐like, kink‐suppressed conformation delivers >5× higher intrinsic photostability and enhanced resistance to energetic particle damage.

Multi‐Scale Mechanical Behavior of Additive‐Manufactured 316L Stainless Steel Processed by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The multi‐scale mechanical behavior of additive‐manufactured 316L stainless steel processed by directed energy deposition and high‐pressure torsion is explored. The influence of torsional strain on strength and microstructural evolution is revealed, indicating progressive grain refinement in the ultrafine regime, reaching strength levels nearing 1800 ...

Silver‐Decorated Graphene Mediates “Lithiene” Structured Interlayers for Ultrafast Lithium Transport in Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional “lithiene” deposition mode is realized at the Li/Li6.5La3Zr1.5Ta0.5O12 interface through an Ag/reduced graphene oxide architecture. Silver nanoparticles function as nucleation seeds to reduce overpotential via epitaxial Li–Ag alloying, while rGO sheets facilitate electron transport and spatially confine lithium growth.

The emergence and complexification of symbolic practices in the Homo lineage: an archaeological and cognitive perspective Émergence et complexification des pratiques symboliques dans la lignée Homo : une approche archéologique et cognitive

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
Recent archaeological discoveries, reviewed in this essay, challenge traditional views on the emergence of human symbolic cognition. Once believed to have originated in Europe around 40,000 years ago, new evidence shows it emerged much earlier across diverse regions.

‘The Housewife's Greatest Standby’: Dried Eggs, Gender and Domesticity During the Second World War

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the previously underexplored connections between dried eggs, women and domesticity in Britain during the Second World War. It argues that newsprint and advertisements framed the purchase and use of dried eggs, a novel wartime product, as a means for housewives to contribute to the war effort through domestic labour. Reduced fertilization regimes could boost biocontrol service without reducing crop yield

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Fertilization level influences pest control effectiveness in tomato crops. High fertilization increases plant growth and aphid density but reduces the performance of the parasitoid Aphidius ervi. In contrast, the predator Adalia bipunctata maintains consistent aphid suppression regardless of fertilization regime.
