A dynamometer for biomechanical use
Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 1979A dynamometer has been designed for measuring isometric forces in human body limb segments. The dynamometer constrains the chosen segment, and measures two orthogonal components of the force reaction between the segment and the dynamometer in a plane perpendicular to the long axis of the segment, plus the torque reaction parallel to the long axis of ...

The Dynamometer and the Diemenese
1990With these words Francois Auguste Peron (1807) set his experimental results against the conventional beliefs of the eighteenth century. His ‘actual experiments’ involved the use of a dynamometer to measure loin and hand strength. The dynamometer became the lever to overturn the cherished Enlightenment doctrine of the Noble Savage.
