Abstract Single leg emphasis cycling (SLEC) has the potential to be beneficial in the rehabilitation setting; however, the metabolic responses to it are unknown. Thus, the current investigation sought to evaluate the metabolic and blood flow responses of SLEC compared to traditional double leg cycling (DLC) and single leg cycling (SLC).

Abstract Aerobic exercise testing helps facilitate recovery post‐concussion. Current protocols (Calgary Concussion Cycling Test: CCCT) are inaccessible for athletes with lower‐body impairments (i.e. Para athletes). This study compared physiological parameters for a novel arm crank test, the Calgary Adapted aRm Ergometer (CARE) test, with the CCCT ...

Abstract figure legend During cardiopulmonary exercise testing, the decline in oxygenation in the prefrontal cortex of women is striking. This crucial brain area is directly involved in planning motor tasks. The decline is particularly pronounced at higher exercise intensities, especially after reaching the respiratory compensation point or anaerobic ...

Abstract Regular exercise using assistive movement devices, such as running frames, has emerged as a promising strategy to improve cardiorespiratory fitness in individuals with cerebral palsy (CP). However, the molecular pathways underlying these adaptations remain poorly understood.

Abstract Reduced cardiorespiratory fitness is common among breast cancer survivors and, although traditionally attributed to cardiac dysfunction, might also be related to peripheral skeletal muscle abnormalities. We examined peak and submaximal plantar‐flexion exercise and recovery kinetics for lower‐leg oxygen uptake (V̇O2${\dot V_{{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}$)
