Dynorphins, endogeneous opioid peptides, function as ligands to the opioid kappa receptors and induce non‐opioid excitotoxic effects. Here we show that big dynorphin and dynorphin A, but not dynorphin B, cause leakage effects in large unilamellar phospholipid vesicles (LUVs).
