Mechanochemistry for Metal–Organic Frameworks and Covalent–Organic Frameworks (MOFs, COFs): Methods, Materials, and Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An overview is provided of the mechanochemistry of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent‐organic frameworks (COFs), highlighting opportunities and strategies for discovery, synthesis and reactivity studies of these materials. Mechanistic studies and comparisons to the mechanochemistry of organic solids are outlined, showcasing how advances in ...

An Ultrapotent, Ultraeconomical, Antifreeze Polypeptide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Simple and inexpensive polypeptides composed of random copolymers of alanine and glutamic acid are effective antifreezes for applications in foods and biomedicine. The polypeptides, inspired by natural extremophile proteins, inhibit the growth of large ice crystals and prevent damage to sensitive biologics.

Non‐PFAS‐Based Magnetic Polymer Sorbents for Efficient Removal of Perfluorinated Compounds from Landfill Leachate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic polymer sorbents featuring non‐per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (non‐PFAS)‐based fluorinated and cationic groups enable selective and efficient removal of multiple PFAS from complex landfill leachate. By optimizing functional group balance and polymer design, the sorbents achieve >90% removal, excellent reusability, and outperform ...
