Purification of E1 and E1-Like Enzymes

2005
Ubiquitin-activating enzyme is the archetype for a family of enzymes catalyzing the ATP-coupled activation of ubiquitin and other class 1 ubiquitin-like proteins required for their subsequent conjugation to cellular targets. The general physical and mechanistic features of the E1 family appear well conserved.

Resonant Raman scattering in InSb in the E1 − E1 + δ1 region

Solid State Communications, 1972
Abstract We have measured resonances in the first order Raman scattering cross sections of InSb in the region of the E 1 and E 1 + δ 1 transitions. Resonances in both, allowed and forbidden processes are observed. A theoretical description of the processes involved is given.

Prostaglandin E1 in hand angiography

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1983
Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) is a rapid, potent vasodilator which, when infused into the arterial system in low doses by bolus injection, has no significant systemic effects and has a relatively long duration of action. Sixty-three hand angiograms were done on 55 patients, comparing PGE1 to tolazoline and to angiograms done with no vasodilation.

The E1 mechanism

2002
In the El mechanism the leaving group departs before the proton is removed in a subsequent step. In common with the SNl reaction, the first step is rate-limiting, and results in the formation of an intermediate carbocation.
