Homology Modelling of Human E1 Ubiquitin Activating Enzyme [PDF]
Human E1 is a key player in protein ubiquitination, however the E1 structure is not available. In this paper, we describe the derivation of a human E1 structure using molecular modelling based on the crystal structure of S. cerevisiae E1 and M.

The molecular architecture of E1.
(A) Ribbon diagrams of predicted E1 structures for HCV, HCV-P, SPgV, and BVDV; features are colour coded as shown on the HCV structure, left. The approximate location of the outer leaflet of the viral membrane is inferred by the positions of the E1 ...

An effective strategy is developed to overcome the medium temperatures wear resistance degradation in refractory multi‐principal element alloys. By utilizing chemical short‐range ordering to trigger oxygen‐induced amorphization, a composite oxide structure is formed, which combines high hardness with robust stiffness.

Thioketal (TK) polymers are promising biomaterials due to their selective biodegradation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), but they respond slowly to physiologic doses of ROS. Here, the TK bond's pendant groups are modified to enhance the degradation of TK‐based implants both in vitro and in vivo.

IntroductionKCNQ1 and KCNE1 form slowly activating delayed rectifier potassium currents (IKs). Loss-of-function of IKs by KCNQ1 variants causes type-1 long QT syndrome (LQTS). Also, some KCNQ1 variants are reported to cause epilepsy.

Cell-based analysis of Chikungunya virus E1 protein in membrane fusion
Background Chikungunya fever is a pandemic disease caused by the mosquito-borne Chikungunya virus (CHIKV). E1 glycoprotein mediation of viral membrane fusion during CHIKV infection is a crucial step in the release of viral genome into the host cytoplasm ...

ABSTRACT Magnetogenetic deep brain stimulation (MG‐DBS) represents a wireless neuromodulation that has demonstrated long‐lasting behavioral benefits in Parkinson's disease models. However, the circuit‐level mechanisms underlying these therapeutic effects have remained uncharacterized due to limitations of conventional neural interfaces.
