Immunotherapy using pullulan‐conjugated Der f 2 allergen in canine atopic dermatitis: An anti‐inflammatory agent‐sparing approach

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
Background – Allergen immunotherapy is used as aetiological treatment for canine atopic dermatitis (cAD). Objective – To assess the anti‐inflammatory agent‐sparing effect over 1 year of immunotherapy using pullulan‐conjugated recombinant Der f 2 (rDf2‐P). Conclusions and Clinical Relevance – Der f 2‐P immunotherapy can lead to a rapid reduction in anti‐

Effect of a ceruminolytic ear cleaner on clinical, microbiological and ear canal microbiome evolution in canine erythemato‐ceruminous otitis externa associated with proliferation of Malassezia yeasts

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
Background – Erythemato‐ceruminous otitis externa (ECOE) is commonly associated with Malassezia spp. and microbial imbalance. Hypothesis/Objective – To assess the clinical performance of an ear cleaner in dogs suffering from ECOE associated with Malassezia spp. overgrowth and to measure its impact on the microbiota. Conclusions and Clinical Relevance –

Assisted return programmes across Europe – Mapping an increasingly obscure landscape

open access: yesInternational Migration, Volume 63, Issue 3, June 2025.
Abstract Amidst an increasing popularity of Assisted Return (AR) programmes amongst European states, on the one hand, and criticism pertaining to their voluntary and humanitarian nature, on the other hand, this paper maps AR programmes across Europe.

Skin blood flow and skin temperature 24 h after induced muscle damage

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, June 2025.
Abstract Infrared thermography is a noninvasive tool to monitor muscle damage, though its effectiveness is debated, as some studies report no skin temperature changes 24–48 h post‐damage. These findings are often attributed to skin blood flow, but there is a lack of studies assessing this outcome.

Joint Wire Cutting with Non‐Maximally Entangled States

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2025.
Wire cutting decomposes large quantum circuits into smaller subcircuits by severing connecting wires, enabling execution on multiple distributed devices. This study employs non‐maximally entangled (NME) states in joint wire cuts to reduce their overhead.

APH Inhibitors that Reverse Aminoglycoside Resistance in Enterococcus casseliflavus

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 8, April 14, 2025.
Molecular dynamics simulations and in silico screening were used to identify non‐competitive inhibitors of APH, the enzymes that confer resistance to aminoglycoside antibiotics. A hit molecule showed activity against APH(2′′)‐IVa. Allosteric inhibition by the hit molecule and a two‐fold more potent analogue was confirmed by enzymatic measurements. Both

Design of Aromatic Interaction Networks in a Protein Cage Modulated by Fluorescent Ligand Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
The study presents a novel system designed to control protein dynamics by orientational changes of aromatic residues triggered by ligand binding. By creating aromatic pockets within protein cages and binding fluorescent molecules via π–π interactions, the study achieves cooperative conformational change verified through X‐ray crystallography.
