Lipids signature shift in Zea Mays L. resistant and susceptible inbred lines in response to Fusarium verticillioides

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Fusarium Ear Rot is one of the major diseases affecting maize worldwide, causing decreases in yield and fumonisins accumulation in crops. In this framework, identifying resistance traits in plants is of great interest for breeding programs. To

Antifungal activity of anacardiaceae extracts on ear rot fungi

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this work was to quantify the antifungal activity of leaf extracts from Schinopsis on Fusarium species causing ear rot disease. Leaves from S. haenkeana and S. lorentzii were extracted with dichloromethane and ethyl acetate. The extracts were evaporated to dryness. The dry powders were dissolved in methanol and filtrated.
