ATLAS 1: Encountering Planet Earth [PDF]
Several NASA science programs examine the dynamic balance of sunlight, atmosphere, water, land, and life that governs Earth's environment. Among these is a series of Space Shuttle-Spacelab missions, named the Atmospheric Laboratory for Applications and ...

Earths are not Super-Earths, Saturns are not Jupiters: Imprints of pressure-bump planet formation on planetary architectures [PDF]
In protoplanetary disks, sufficiently massive planets excite pressure bumps, which can then be preferred locations for forming new planet cores. We discuss how this loop may affect the architecture of multi-planet systems, and compare our predictions with observation.

Detecting New Planets in Transiting Systems
I present an initial investigation into a new planet detection technique that uses the transit timing of a known, transiting planet. The transits of a solitary planet orbiting a star occur at equally spaced intervals in time.

“Planet Earth” belongs to us. In this case, I'm not referring to the planet, earth, on which we live and which we consider our home in space. Instead, I'm saying that the upcoming television series, “Planet Earth,” belongs to us, the earth and space science community.Several years ago the AGU Council voted to provide $10,000 as “seed money” to initiate

Scattering of Giant Planets and Implications for the Origin of the Hierarchical and Eccentric Two-planet System GJ 1148 [PDF]
The GJ 1148 system has two Saturn-mass planets orbiting around an M dwarf star on hierarchical and eccentric orbits, with orbital period ratio of 13 and eccentricities of both planets of 0.375. The inner planet is in the regime of eccentric warm Jupiters.
