Earth Observation from Elliptical Orbits with Very Low Altitude Perigee [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Small Earth Observation satellites can obtain higher resolution with smaller payloads when operating at very low altitude. The life limiting effect of residual atmospheric drag can be reduced flying elliptical, low-altitude perigee orbits, with perigee ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Copernicus Earth Observation and Big Data for Cultural Heritage Management

open access: yes, 2021
Since 2015, the Sentinel‐1 and ‐2 sensors systematically provide radar and optical images, that can be accessed and processed by the end‐users. This initiative is strongly supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) free and full open access (FFO ...

Application Profile for Earth Observation Images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Based on the concept of an application profile as proposed by the Dublin Core initiative, the work presented in this manuscript attempts to propose an application profile for the Earth Observation images. This approach aims to provide an open and extensible model facilitating the sharing and management of distributed images within decentralized ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
