Infrared Nanocrystals for Space Application: Hardness to Irradiations
This article investigates infrared HgTe nanocrystals under X‐ray and ion irradiation, revealing remarkable radiation hardness. It uncovers distinct degradation mechanisms and shows that the nanomaterial outperforms integrated electronics. The results position colloidal nanocrystals as promising candidates for resilient space and harsh‐environment ...

Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.

The role of dynamics on the habitability of an Earth-like planet
From the numerous detected planets outside the Solar system, no terrestrial planet comparable to our Earth has been discovered so far. The search for an Exo-Earth is certainly a big challenge which may require the detections of planetary systems ...

Spectral Evolution of an Earth-Like Planet [PDF]
We have developed a characterization of the geological evolution of the Earths atmosphere and surface in order to model the observable spectra of an Earth-like planet through its geological history.

Kepler-62: A Five-Planet System with Planets of 1.4 and 1.6 Earth Radii in the Habitable Zone [PDF]
Two Small Habitable Planets NASA's Kepler space telescope was launched in 2009 with the goal of detecting planets the size of Earth in the habitable zone of Sun-like stars and determining the frequency of these planets. Using data from Kepler, Borucki et

On the radius of habitable planets [PDF]
The conditions that a planet must fulfill to be habitable are not precisely known. However, it is comparatively easier to define conditions under which a planet is very likely not habitable.

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...

Origin and early evolution of terrestrial planet atmospheres and oceans
Planet atmospheric compositions are determined by the availability of a gas species, its molecular weight and the mass (or gravity force) of a planet. Both Mercury and the Moon are not massive enough to hold any gas species to form an atmosphere.
