A Vent-Field-Scale Model of the East Pacific Rise 9°50'N Magma-Hydrothermal System [PDF]
This paper describes a two-limb single-pass modeling approach constrained by vent temperature, heat flow, vent geochemistry, active-source seismology, and seismically inferred circulation geometry to provide first-order constraints on crustal ...

Tidal response of sea level rise in marginal seas near China
A numerical model of the Northwest Pacific is developed to study tidal system and tidal level changes due to mean-sea-level rise in marginal seas near China. The results show that after mean-sea-level rise, phase lags are increased to the east and ...

Whole mantle shear structure beneath the East Pacific Rise [PDF]
We model broadband seismograms containing triplicated S, S^2, and S^3 along with ScS to produce a pure path one-dimensional model extending from the crust to the core-mantle boundary beneath the East Pacific Rise.

Abiotic synthesis of graphite in hydrothermal vents
Deciphering the origin, age, and composition of deep marine organic carbon remains a challenge for understanding the dynamics of the marine carbon cycle.

Recent measurements of pore-water oxygen profiles in ridge flank sediments of the East Pacific Rise revealed an upward-directed diffusive oxygen flux from the hydrothermally active crust into the overlying sediment.

Flexure and thickening of the lithosphere at the East Pacific Rise
We have formulated a new class of plate‐bending equations which simulates the flexure of the lithosphere at mid‐ocean ridges. The stress‐accumulation effect in a growing (moving and thickening) lithosphere significantly changes the flexural behavior.
