Primary pulmonary salivary gland‐type tumors in cytopathology practice: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesCancer Cytopathology, Volume 134, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Background Primary pulmonary salivary gland‐type tumors (PSGTs) are rare but clinically significant tumors that originate from the submucosal glands of the tracheobronchial tree. Cytologic samples taken during bronchoscopy are a key component of preoperative evaluation. However, cytologic diagnosis remains challenging because of the submucosal

Enhancing diagnostic precision: a multicentric study of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy in lymphoproliferative disorders

open access: yesERJ Open Research
Background The diagnostic accuracy of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) for the diagnosis of lymphoma has a low overall sensitivity.

Endoscopic Ultrasound With Bronchoscope‐Guided Fine‐Needle Aspiration (EUS‐B‐FNA) in a six‐Month‐Old Infant: A Case Based Review of Literature

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
A 6‐month‐old infant with recurrent respiratory infections was diagnosed to have a posterior mediastinal cyst causing bronchial compression, and diagnostic uncertainty prompted minimally invasive evaluation. Transoesophageal EUS‐B‐FNA safely confirmed bronchogenic cyst, followed by successful surgical excision with complete recovery.

Clinical utility of EBUS‐TBNA of hilar, interlobar, and lobar lymph nodes in patients with primary lung cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2022
Background Endobronchial ultrasound‐guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA) is used to evaluate hilar/interlobar/lobar lymph nodes. This study aimed to assess the clinical utility of EBUS‐TBNA for station 10/11/12 lymph nodes (LNs) in ...

Unilateral Pulmonary Artery Lesion in an Immunocompromised Patient

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
We report a case of a unilateral septic pulmonary artery thrombus presenting as pulmonary infarction and pulmonary hypertension in an immunocompromised host. ABSTRACT We report a 62‐year‐old man with myelodysplastic syndrome on immunosuppressive therapy who presented with right lung consolidation and neutropenia. Despite broad antimicrobial therapy for

Endobronchial Ultrasound-guided Transbronchial Needle Aspiration Increases the Yield of Transbronchial Lung Biopsy for the Evaluation of Peribronchial Lesions

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal, 2017
Background: Due to absence of visible endobronchial target, the diagnostic yield of flexible bronchoscopy for peribronchial lesions has been unsatisfactory.

Diagnosis of mediastinal tuberculous lymphadenitis using endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration with rinse fluid polymerase chain reaction

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2020
Background/Purpose: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) has been gradually introduced in the diagnosis of mediastinal tuberculous (TB) lymphadenitis.

Prospective Case Series to Determine the Feasibility, Diagnostic Yield and Safety of Performing EBUS Guided Trans‐Bronchial Mediastinal Cryobiopsy (EBUS‐TBMC) of Lymph Nodes Using 1.1 mm Cryoprobe Through a Working Channel of Linear EBUS Bronchoscope Versus Conventional En‐Bloc Cryobiopsy

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
We describe the feasibility and diagnostic adequacies of performing cryobiopsies through the working channel (TWC) of a linear EBUS bronchoscope as compared to conventional en‐bloc cryobiopsy, which involves the en‐bloc removal of the linear bronchoscope, cryoprobe and frozen specimen.

Safety and Diagnostic Accuracy of the Transnasal Approach for Endobronchial Ultrasound-Guided Transbronchial Needle Aspiration (EBUS-TBNA)

open access: yes, 2023
Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a safe and accurate diagnostic procedure used for investigating mediastinal pathologies. It is usually performed using an oral approach. The nasal route has been proposed but
