EBUS TBNA for the diagnosis of central parenchymal lung lesions not visible at routine bronchoscopy

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Obtaining a tissue diagnosis of malignancy is challenging in patients with suspected lung cancer presenting with centrally located intrapulmonary masses.

Diagnostic value of EBUS-TBNA for lung cancer with non-enlarged lymph nodes: a study in a tuberculosis-endemic country. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
BACKGROUND: In tuberculosis (TB)-endemic areas, contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET) findings of lung cancer patients with non-enlarged lymph nodes are frequently discrepant.

Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration of thyroid: Report of two cases and systematic review of literature

open access: yesLung India, 2016
Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a minimally invasive and safe technique for a sampling of mediastinal lesions. Indications for EBUS-TBNA have gradually expanded since its introduction. The usual approach to

An Unusual Cause of Superior Vena Cava Compression: Delayed Mediastinal Migration of Hyaluronic Acid Breast Fillers

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
Cosmetic filler beyond the breast: hyaluronic acid migration into mediastinal lymph nodes causing superior vena cava compression and diagnostic uncertainty. ABSTRACT Injectable breast fillers are increasingly used as minimally invasive alternatives to implants.

EBUS-TBNA in elderly patients with lung cancer: Safety and performance outcomes

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) enables minimally invasive lymph node sampling during bronchoscopy under conscious sedation.

Prognostic Impact of EBUS TBNA for Lung Adenocarcinoma Patients with Postoperative Recurrences

open access: yes, 2022
Background: The aim of this study was to verify the importance and the timing of endobronchial ultrasound with transbronchial biopsy (EBUS TBNA) among lung adenocarcinoma patients after radical resection.

Primary Mediastinal T‐Lymphoblastic Lymphoma With Airway Stenosis Diagnosed Using Endobronchial Ultrasound‐Guided Transbronchial Mediastinal Cryobiopsy: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
EBUS‐Cryo provided larger, well‐preserved tissue specimens, enabling a definitive diagnosis of T‐lymphoblastic lymphoma when EBUS‐TBNA was nondiagnostic. EBUS‐Cryo was performed safely despite substantial tracheal compression, highlighting its potential as a minimally invasive diagnostic option for mediastinal lymphoma.

Comparison of transbronchial needle aspiration with and without ultrasound guidance for diagnosing benign lymph node adenopathy

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2020
Background Transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) is a minimally invasive procedure performed to diagnose lymph node (LN) adenopathy. TBNA with and without endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) guidance has a high diagnostic yield for malignant LN enlargement,
