Rescue Diagnosis of Upper‐Lobar Station 12U Lymph Nodes Using the Thin Convex‐Probe EBUS Bronchoscope (BF‐UCP190F): A Report of Two Cases

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
When conventional bronchoscopic forceps biopsy is non‐diagnostic, the TCP‐EBUS bronchoscope (BF‐UCP190F) enables real‐time EBUS‐TBNA of upper‐lobar station 12 lymph node via B3. This rescue approach establishes the definitive pathological diagnosis and directly guides subsequent treatment, highlighting the potential of TCP‐EBUS to expand the diagnostic

EBUS-TBNA in Children: The Road Less Travelled

open access: yes, 2021
The ultrasonographic evaluation and sam-pling of mediastinal lesions by endobronchial ul-trasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) or endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is the standard of care for adult ...

Patterns of nodal spread in stage III NSCLC: importance of EBUS-TBNA and 18F-FDG PET/CT for radiotherapy target volume definition

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2021
Purpose The aim of this study was to compare the pattern of intra-patient spread of lymph-node (LN)-metastases within the mediastinum as assessed by 18F-FDG PET/CT and systematic endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial-needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA)

Diagnostic Yield of EBUS Mediastinal Cryobiopsy Versus TBNA in Suspected Lymphoproliferative Disorders: A Prospective Multicentre Study

open access: yesRespirology, Volume 31, Issue 9, Page 903-911, September 2026.
We assessed the diagnostic yield of EBUS‐guided transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy (EBUS‐TBMC) compared with EBUS‐transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA) in patients with suspected mediastinal lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs). EBUS‐TBMC was superior to EBUS‐TBNA and achieved a high diagnostic yield in patients with suspected mediastinal ...

Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration for diagnosing thoracic lesions: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundEndobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a minimally invasive technique for biopsy of lung, peri-pulmonary tissue and lymph nodes under real-time ultrasound-guided biopsy.

Extent of Endobronchial Ultrasound Nodal Sampling and Risk of Pathologic N2 Upstaging in Clinical N0–N1 Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 17, September 2026.
Greater extent of EBUS nodal sampling was associated with progressively lower rates of unexpected pathologic N2 disease. Sampling of ≥ 3 mediastinal stations at least one N2 and N3 showed the lowest upstaging risk compared with limited sampling. ABSTRACT Background Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)–guided transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) is ...

Utility of conventional transbronchial needle aspiration with rapid on-site evaluation (c-TBNA-ROSE) at a tertiary care center with endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) facility

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Conventional transbronchial needle aspiration (c-TBNA) is an underutilized bronchoscopic modality. Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) guided-TBNA though efficacious is an expensive modality, facilities of which are available at only limited ...

Intraoperative Rapid On‐Site Evaluation (ROSE) vs. Frozen Section in Lung Surgery: A Prospective Study on Diagnostic Speed and Accuracy

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 17, September 2026.
Intraoperative frozen‐section assessment for pulmonary lesions prolongs surgery. In 75 patients with 81 samples, we compared rapid on‐site evaluation (ROSE) with frozen section. ROSE greatly reduced diagnostic time with reliable diagnostic accuracy. ROSE represents a valuable auxiliary tool for rapid intraoperative lung‐tumor diagnosis.

A study of patients with isolated mediastinal and hilar lymphadenopathy undergoing EBUS-TBNA

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Isolated mediastinal and/or hilar lymphadenopathy (IMHL) may be caused by benign and malignant disorders or be 'reactive'. Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) has a reported low negative predictive ...

Pulmonary Sarcoidosis in Qatar: Clinical Features, Diagnostic Profile and Treatment Patterns in a Multi‐Ethnic Population

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 9, September 2026.
In Qatar's first pulmonary sarcoidosis cohort, disease was predominantly stage II, with high EBUS‐TBNA yield. South Asians had more constitutional symptoms; lower DLCO was observed but requires prospective confirmation. Pandemic‐era imaging may have increased incidental detection. ABSTRACT Introduction Sarcoidosis data from the Middle East are limited,
