Quasi-Stationary Strength of ECAP-Processed Cu-Zr at 0.5 Tm
The influence of the grain structure on the tensile deformation strength is studied for precipitation-strengthened Cu-0.2%Zr at 673K. Subgrains and grains are formed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) and annealing.

This review highlights recent advancements in Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) techniques tailored for tubular samples. The mechanisms of processing are critically discussed with emphasis on microstructural control and the governing process parameters that enable refinement to ultrafine‐ and nano‐grained structures. Comparative insights into equivalent

The environmentally responsive plant epigenome: insights from jasmonate signaling
Summary The environmental responsiveness of the plant epigenome is essential for spatiotemporally precise gene regulation, enabling plants to adapt to external cues. Elucidating the mechanisms underlying this responsiveness is therefore fundamental to deciphering the molecular logic of plant‐environment interactions.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Joining UFG Copper by Means of the W2Mi Machine [PDF]
Joining metals with ultra-fine grains (UFG) is very difficult. UFG metals have a grain size of less than 1 µm. Exceeding the recrystallization temperature causes the growth of ultra-fine grains and degradation of the material’s mechanical properties. The

A common picture of the metaphysics of time has it that the past cannot change. For example, if it is now the case that Obama was born in 1961, it will never be the case that he was not born in 1961. A semantic consequence of this view is the following: (TP) Context-insensitive, temporally specific sentences about the past are truth-value-persistent ...

MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ULTRA-FINE GRAINED AZ31 ALLOY PROCESSED BY ECAP
Commercial magnesium alloy AZ31 was processed by equal channel angular pressing preceded by hot extrusion (EX-ECAP). Microstructure evolution with strain due to ECAP was investigated by light and transmission electron microscopy. ECAP processing resulted
