Lipophilic extractives from nonwood fibers during soda/AQ pulping followed by TCF and ECF bleaching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this work we report the chemical composition of lipophilic extractives from several nonwood fibers such as flax, hemp, jute, sisal and abaca, which are used in the manufacture of high-quality paper pulps, during soda/anthraquinone (AQ) pulping ...

Kinetics of AOX Formation in Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching of Bagasse Pulp

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
In this paper, a kinetic model of the first chlorine dioxide bleaching stage (D0) in an elemental chlorine-free (ECF) bleaching sequence is presented for bagasse pulps. The model is based on the rate of adsorbable organic halogen (AOX) formation.

Problems and Measures in ECF Bleaching Operation

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 2007

Niobium Oxide for Microplastics Degradation—the Effect of Crystal Structure and Morphology

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Crystal structure of Nb2O5 significantly affects its photocatalytic activity. Efficient degradation of microplastics is achieved with high proportion of TT‐Nb2O5 and high population of ≈2.75 eV defect level, which is responsible for photocatalytic activity under solar illumination. Different types of microplastics, including environmental microplastics,

Host Evaluation: Reliance on Symbionts: A new metric for quantifying nutrient exchange in nutritional mutualisms

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, Page 2048-2066, September 2025.
Abstract Mutualisms between autotrophs and heterotrophs that exchange nutrients are of pivotal importance in the ecology and evolution of life on Earth. However, investigation of holobiont trophic strategy (reliance on autotrophy vs. heterotrophy) is hampered by practical challenges in quantifying their diverse nutritional pathways.

AOX formation in ECF bleaching at different kappa numbers : Influence of oxygen delignification and hexenuronic acid content [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
he aim of this study was to determine how oxygen delignification before bleaching and the hexenuronic acid (HexA) content of the pulps influenced the acisorbable organic halogen (AOX) formation in the elemental chlorine free (ECP) bleaching effluent ...

Anaerobic biodegradability and toxicity of wastewaters from chlorine and total chlorine-free bleaching of eucalyptus kraft pulps. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Chlorine bleaching effluents are problematic for anaerobic wastewater treatment due to their high methanogenic toxicity and low biodegradability. Presently, alternative bleaching processes are being introduced, such as elemental chlorine-free (ECF) and ...

Tetra‐Donor Pyrazine Based Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters for Electroluminescence and Amplified Spontaneous Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 49, December 2, 2024.
The TOC shows the molecular structures of 4tCzPz and 4αCbPz, along with the overlayed electroluminescence and ASE spectra. The green and blue backgrounds correspond to the emission colors of 4tCzPz and 4αCbPz, respectively. Abstract Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials are expected to address triplet‐related losses in electrically ...
