We compared eDNA metabarcoding and underwater visual census (UVC) to monitor biodiversity across habitat transitions in the complex, low‐visibility coastal waters of urban Hong Kong. While eDNA detected broader species richness and unique taxa, UVC focused on reef species with high site fidelity.
