Compressive Sensing Echelle Spectrometer

Frontiers in Optics 2009/Laser Science XXV/Fall 2009 OSA Optics & Photonics Technical Digest, 2009
A compressive sensing echelle spectrometer has been built. By employing compression, we reconstructed the two dimensional echelle spectrums using the single photodetector with far fewer measurements when compared to raster scanning.

Compact echelle spectrometer employing a cross-grating

Applied Optics, 2018
The concept and the implementation of a compact and simplified echelle spectrometer are presented, and the working principle is demonstrated by first experimental measurements. The crucial element of the setup is a cross-grating, combining an echelle grating utilizing several higher diffraction orders (5th up to 11th) and a superposed perpendicular ...

An echelle diffraction grating for imaging spectrometer

SPIE Proceedings, 2016
We demonstrate an echelle diffraction grating (EDG) of 17 input waveguides and 33 output waveguides. For each input waveguide, only 17 of 33 output waveguides are used, receiving light ranging from 1520 nm to 1600 nm wavelength. The channel spacing of the EDG is 5 nm, with loss of -6dB and crosstalk of -17dB for center input waveguide and -15dB for ...

Echelle spectrometers and charge-coupled devices

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 1997
Abstract State-of-the-art spectrometers are equipped more and more with solid-state array detectors for the recording of spectra. The basis of this development is the tremendous improvement in the performance of detectors. The photometric parameters of individual pixels of detectors (quantum efficiency, dark current, read-out noise) are comparable to

An Echelle Spectrometer–Spectrograph for Astronomical Use

Applied Optics, 1967
A compact echelle spectrometer-spectrograph has been designed for use at the Cassegrain focus of the University of Wisconsin 91-cm telescope at Pine Bluff. Laboratory results obtained with this instrument show that it has great potential for both stellar and nebular studies. Typical photographs and photoelectric scans of laboratory spectra are shown. A

Simple spectral reduction algorithm used for the echelle spectrometer

Applied Optics, 2018
The structure of the echelle spectrometer equipped with a prism cross-dispersion element is very complex because of the nonlinear interaction between the prism and the echelle grating, which makes it difficult to extract the wavelength information from the two-dimensional spectrogram.

Considerations for Designing an Echelle Spectrometer

2014
After we had “captured” the echelle grating and the corresponding collimator mirror from the internet, these parts were still not sufficient for the construction of a complete echelle spectrograph. The cross-disperser, the camera optics and the slit assembly at the grating rack were missing. The seller was called.

A design cycle for echelle spectrometers

International Optical Design Conference 2017, 2017
Echelle spectroscopy is a mature technique that was introduced over 60 years ago. However, the process of determining all of the physical parameters of an echelle spectrometer, especially the main parameters of the echelle grating itself (the groove density, the blaze angle, and the grating’s size), is not easily found in the literature.

Echelle-emission spectrometer with divided spectral coverage

Optics and Precision Engineering, 2014
Limited by the development of detectors, the Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry(ICP-AES) based on an echelle spectrograph is difficult to complete the multiple element measurement at a wider spectral coverage. This paper focuses on the improvement of an existing echelle spectrograph. It designs a new wider band echelle spectrograph
