Detection of short period intensity oscillations in the solar corona observed during the total solar eclipse of august 11, 1999

open access: yesIranian Journal of Physics Research, 2005
An experiment to search for short-period intensity oscillations in the solar corona was conducted during the total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 in Esfahan, Iran.

The 2017 total solar eclipse in the United States: Traffic management and lessons learned

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2022
On August 21, 2017, 14 states in the United States experienced a total solar eclipse. The event attracted people to the path of totality and generated additional traffic that might have negatively impacted the regular traffic operation and management ...

Evaluation of dosimetric and spatial accuracy of a virtual cone technique for radiosurgery using linac‐integrated CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...

Surface dose analysis and dosimetric comparison of Halcyon versus Truebeam in breast cancer radiotherapy: An OSL dosimetry study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Breast cancer is a neoplastic disease with high prevalence among women. Radiotherapy is one of the principal treatment modalities for this disease, but it poses significant challenges. This study aimed to compare and evaluate the technical and dosimetric performance of conventional C‐arm linac systems and a new design, Halcyon, in the ...

A census of galactic spider binary millisecond pulsars with the Nançay Radio Telescope [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Spider pulsars are systems in which a millisecond pulsar (MSP) tightly orbits (Pb $\lesssim$ 1 day) a low mass (mc $\lesssim$ 0.5 M$_\odot$) semi-degenerate star. Spider often display eclipses around superior conjunction. This eclipse phenomenon is currently poorly understood. We analyzed eclipses via pulsar timing.

Design and validation of a novel dosimetry phantom for motion management audits

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background We present a novel phantom design for conducting end‐to‐end dosimetry audits for respiratory motion management of two anatomical treatment sites. The design enables radiochromic film measurements of the dose administered to the target throughout the respiratory cycle (motion‐included) and the dose delivered to the time‐averaged ...

HF Radar Observations and Modeling of the Impact of the 8 April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse on the Ionosphere‐Thermosphere System

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The path of totality of the 8 April 2024 solar eclipse traversed the fields‐of‐view of four US SuperDARN radars. This rare scenario provided an excellent opportunity to monitor the large‐scale ionospheric response to the eclipse.
