THE ECLIPSING BINARY SYSTEM BM ORI
Photometric and spectroscopic features of eclipsing binary system BM Ori can be described well by a model in which the components are the primary star B3 ZAMS, the secondary F2 pre-main sequence star and a dusty envelope of large grains around the ...

A survey for high-mass eclipsing binaries [PDF]
ABSTRACT We report results from a search for Galactic high-mass eclipsing binaries. The photometric monitoring campaign was performed in Sloan r and i with the robotic twin refractor RoBoTT at the Universitätssternwarte Bochum in Chile and complemented by Johnson UBV data.

A Catalog of M&M Eclipsing Binaries with TESS
We present a catalog of 1292 low-mass (M&M) short-period eclipsing binaries (EBs) observed by the TESS mission. EBs are useful for many aspects of stellar astrophysics, including calibrating stellar models, and catalogs of eclipsing binary properties ...

Classification of Periodic Variable Stars from TESS
The number of known periodic variable stars has increased rapidly in recent years. As an all-sky transit survey, the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) plays an important role in detecting low-amplitude variable stars.

OBSERVED PROPERTIES OF CONTACT BINARY SYSTEMS
A group of close eclipsing systems, which continues to pose a challenge in many subjects of modern astrophysics, is that of contact binaries. In this study, using the most recent observational data of a large sample of such systems, a review concerning ...

Turbulence in the Atmospheres of Eclipsing Binary Stars [PDF]
Abstract:A review of the orbits and dimensions of the ζ Aurigae systems is given, based on photometric and spectrographic observations. The Ca II K-line has been studied intensively to determine the extent and uneven structure of the chromospheres of these stars; the multiple structure of this line observed at several eclipses confirms the presence of ...

Detection of Four Intermediate-mass Stars with Cool Companions in Low Mass Ratio Eclipsing Binaries
According to the core fragmentation and dynamical capture theories of binary formation, binaries tend to form with nearly equal masses. The detection of intermediate-mass binaries with low mass ratios challenges these theories, as such binaries may form ...

The first eclipsing binary pulsar, PSR B1957+20, was discovered in 1987. Since then, 13 other eclipsing low-mass binary pulsars have been found, 12 of these are in globular clusters. In this paper we list the known eclipsing binary pulsars and their properties, with special attention to the eclipsing systems in 47 Tuc.

Two Young Eclipsing Binaries in Orion with Temperatures and Radii Affected by Spots and Third Bodies
In this work we present a model of two young eclipsing binaries in the Orion complex. Both heavily spotted, they present radii and temperatures that are in disagreement with the predictions of standard stellar models.

THE (O-C) DIAGRAMS OF ECLIPSING BINARIES: TRADITIONAL AND NEW WAYS OF TREATMENT
In this review, the traditional and the new ways of treatment of the orbital period changes of close eclipsing binaries are presented. Moreover, a comparison is made, and a general discussion is given.
