Blue Carbon Ecosystems and Ecosystem-Based Adaptation

2021
Blue carbon ecosystems are being lost at a fast rate due to various trends. When these ecosystems degrade, they contribute to climate change by releasing stored carbon into the atmosphere. Furthermore, coastal ecosystems are being degraded or lost, resulting in damage to infrastructure and property from climatic extremes.
