Bacteria and Fungi Synergistically Reprogram Flavonoid Metabolites in the Pericarp of Citrus Reticulata 'Chachi' During Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors employed widely targeted metabolomics, microbial amplicon sequencing, and fermentation assays to investigate the microbiome 's influence on PCRC 's (pericarp of Citrus reticulata ' Chachi ') flavonoid profile over 0–19 years of storage. Based on the correlation analysis, solid‐state and liquid‐state fermentation, and catalytic activity ...

Evidence of greater dung beetle abundance in a rewilded area compared to nearby organic farms

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence
Organic farms have been shown to harbour larger and more diverse invertebrate populations and associated ecosystem services compared to other conventional farming methods. However, data on the impacts of rewilding on invertebrates remain scarce.

Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Integrating scientific assessment of wetland areas and economic evaluation tools to develop an evaluation framework to advise wetland management [PDF]

open access: yes
Wetland ecosystems provide society with a range of valuable ecosystem services. However, wetlands worldwide are experiencing increasing pressure from a number of sources, caused by an interrelated combination of market failure and policy intervention ...

Decoding the Cellular Heterogeneity and Malignant Progression of Human Penile Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomic and functional analyses identify SEMA3C as a key regulator of tumor progression and tumor microenvironment remodeling in penile squamous cell carcinoma. SEMA3C promotes epithelial–mesenchymal transition, tumor growth, and invasion while shaping an immunosuppressive microenvironment, highlighting its potential as a prognostic ...

FAPα+ Macrophages Orchestrate Immune Evasion in Multiple Myeloma by Dual Regulation of PD‐L1 and T Cell Senescence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibroblast activation protein alpha‐positive (FAPα+) macrophages, a distinct subset of multiple myeloma (MM)‐associated macrophages, drive immune evasion in MM through multi‐faceted mechanisms. FAPα physically interacts with vimentin (VIM) and triggers its phosphorylation at the S72 residue, which in turn induces PD‐L1 transcription. Additionally, FAPα
