Data Correction and Evolution Analysis of the ProgrammableWeb Service Ecosystem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The evolution analysis on Web service ecosystems has become a critical problem as the frequency of service changes on the Internet increases rapidly. Developers need to understand these evolution patterns to assist in their decision-making on service selection.

Service-Based Wireless Energy Crowdsourcing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We propose a novel service-based ecosystem to crowdsource wireless energy to charge IoT devices. We leverage the service paradigm to abstract wireless energy crowdsourcing from nearby IoT devices as energy services. The proposed energy services ecosystem offers convenient, ubiquitous, and cost-effective power access to charge IoT devices.

Co‐production of nature's contributions to people: What evidence is out there?

open access: yesPeople and Nature, 2023
Nature's contributions to people (NCP) rarely originate from nature alone. Often, only by joining natural capital with forms of anthropogenic capital, NCP emerge benefitting people.

Sown Covers Enhance the Diversity and Abundance of Ground-Dwelling Predators in Mediterranean Pear Orchards

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Intensive agriculture has a strong impact on the structure of arthropod communities in soil. Sown covers can contribute to their conservation, especially for generalist predators such as spiders and predatory beetles.

Fishing for ecosystem services [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Management, 2016
Ecosystems are commonly exploited and manipulated to maximize certain human benefits. Such changes can degrade systems, leading to cascading negative effects that may be initially undetected, yet ultimately result in a reduction, or complete loss, of certain valuable ecosystem services.

Ecosystem Services of Mangrove Forests: Results of a Meta-Analysis of Economic Values

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2020
Mangrove forests are paramount for sustaining and enhancing ecosystem services benefitting both local and regional communities, and the global environment. Scholars have long studied the values of ecosystem services of mangrove forests.

Shifting states, shifting services: Linking regime shifts to changes in ecosystem services of shallow lakes

open access: yes, 2020
Shallow lakes can shift between stable states as a result of anthropogenic or natural drivers. Four common stable states differ in dominant groups of primary producers: submerged, floating, or emergent macrophytes or phytoplankton.
