TRIM59 Drives Bladder Cancer Progression Through E3 Ligase‐Dependent K48‐Linked Degradation of PTRF

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Schematic model of TRIM59‐driven BLCA progression through K48‐linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of PTRF, leading to AKT activation and c‐Myc upregulation. ABSTRACT Tripartite motif‐containing 59 (TRIM59) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase implicated in multiple malignancies, but its role in bladder cancer (BLCA) remains incompletely understood ...

Genotype‐Informed Whole‐Animal Kinome Screening Reveals Shared Kinase Vulnerabilities Across Driver Contexts in PDAC

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Overview of experimental workflow and key findings. Clinically prevalent 2‐hit and 3‐hit PDAC genotypes were first modeled in Drosophila to enable kinome‐wide genetic screening. Candidate therapeutic targets were prioritized using human tumor expression data and pathway enrichment analyses.

The Serotonergic and Cholinergic Signaling Pathways Drive Gastric Precancerous Lesions and Its Potential Mechanism

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Vagal cholinergic neurons promote gastric 5‐HT secretion, which drives gastric precancerous lesions through 5‐HTR1D and TRPV4, highlighting these as candidate targets for early intervention. ABSTRACT Gastric cancer (GC) is a leading lethal malignancy globally. Gastric precancerous lesion (GPL) represents a critical step in GC, but its neural regulatory

Pancreatic β‐cell mitogenic regeneration in type 1 diabetes: A preclinical review

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is caused by autoimmune destruction of insulin‐producing pancreatic β‐cells, resulting in hyperglycaemia. The first‐line treatment for symptomatic T1D is exogenous insulin replacement to maintain glycaemic control.

Ectopic pregnancy in simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation : A case report

open access: yes, 2016
INTRODUCTION: We present a case report of ectopic pregnancy (EP) after simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation (SKPTx). PRESENTATION OF CASE: A 33-year-old female status post SKPTx suddenly got abdominal pain in the lower level.

A guide to transcriptional cyclin‐dependent kinases in cancer

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Transcriptional cyclin‐dependent‐kinases (tCDKs) facilitate gene expression by promoting RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) progression through discrete phases of the transcription cycle. Aberrant tCDK activity is detectable in different human cancers, thereby contributing to de‐regulated gene expression programs that drive oncogenic phenotypes.

Laparoscopic treatment of heterotopic pancreas in the prepyloric region

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2006
Heterotopic pancreas is a rare condition and its diagnosis is often difficult. Traditionally the condition is treated by open surgery. We report two young women with symptomatic heterotopic pancreas located in the prepyloric region. In the first patient,
