Role of SoxE transcription factors in development and disease
Abstract Sox8, Sox9, and Sox10 arose by multiple rounds of genome duplications from a single SoxE gene in ancestral vertebrates. In this review, we will briefly discuss the molecular structure and function of SoxE transcription factors and their evolutionary origin. We will then discuss their expression, function, and developmental disorders.

ABSTRACT Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, is a major complication in women with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). We aimed to develop and externally validate an early postoperative risk score to identify EOC patients at increased risk of VTE after debulking surgery.

Laparoscopic wedge resection for gastric ectopic pancreas
Ectopic pancreas is pancreatic tissue found outside the usual anatomic location of the pancreas. It is often an incidental finding in clinical practice and can be found at different sites in the gastrointestinal tract.

ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has emerged as the most prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide, closely linked to the global rising incidence of obesity and metabolic syndrome. This review synthesizes current evidence on the pathogenesis, gut–liver axis, and multidisciplinary management of MASLD within the ...

Retrospective single center evaluation of endosonographic features of ectopic pancreas cases
Objective: Ectopic pancreas is defined as pancreatic tissue located outside the normal pancreas. The aim of the present study was to determine the sonographic characteristics of lesions considered as ectopic pancreas via endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS ...

Navigating the Complexity: A Comprehensive Review of GSK‐3 Inhibition in Regenerative Medicine
ABSTRACT Glycogen synthase kinase‐3 (GSK‐3) is a central regulator of numerous cellular signaling pathways, with critical roles in metabolism, proliferation, differentiation, and tissue regeneration. This review explores the multifaceted effects of pharmacological GSK‐3 inhibition across multiple body districts, focusing on its highly context‐dependent

Ectopic pancreas in gallbladder: clinical significance, diagnostic and therapeutic implications [PDF]
Ectopic or heterotopic pancreas is defined as the presence of pancreatic tissue in an anatomical place not related to the pancreas, being it most frequent locations the stomach and small bowel. Its finding in the gallbladder is exceptional.

Neurog3-dependent pancreas dysgenesis causes ectopic pancreas in Hes1 mutant mice.
Mutations in Hes1, a target gene of the Notch signalling pathway, lead to ectopic pancreas by a poorly described mechanism. Here, we use genetic inactivation of Hes1 combined with lineage tracing and live imaging to reveal an endodermal requirement for ...

A Large Gastric Duplication (Choristoma) in an Adult Mimicking a Mucinous Cystic Tumor of the Pancreas [PDF]
Gastric duplication represents a very rare entity in the adult population. Most of the symptoms are due to the presence of ectopic gastric mucosa (30-35% of cases), gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation or neoplasm formation.
