Targeting the ARRDC3–DRP1 Axis via hUMSC‐Derived Exosomal CRYAB for Neuroprotection in Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Intranasally administered hUMSC‐derived exosomes modulate the CRYAB–ARRDC3–Drp1 axis, alleviating mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis, enhancing neuronal survival, reducing oxidative stress, and promoting functional recovery in ischemia‐reperfusion injury, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke.

Anomalous Spin‐Optical Helical Effect in Ti‐Based Kagome Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The kagome lattice hosts diverse correlated quantum states, including elusive loop currents. We report spin‐handedness selective signals in CsTi3Bi5, termed the anomalous spin‐optical helical effect, surpassing conventional spin responses. Arising from light helicity coupled to spin‐orbital correlations, this effect provides a sensitive, indirect probe

Charge Transfer States in Donor–Acceptor Bulk‐Heterojunctions as Triplet–Triplet Annihilation Sensitizer for Solid‐State Photon Upconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A near‐infrared photosensitizer that facilitates efficient solid‐state photon upconversion by recycling triplets formed within a fullerene‐based donor–acceptor bulk‐heterojunction system is demonstrated. Spectroscopic investigations reveal that the energy of photogenerated charge transfer states of triplet character (3CT) is subsequently transferred to

Anabolic Steroid use in Sports and in Physical Activity: Overview and Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesSport Mont, 2018
Anabolic steroids, commonly referred to as anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS), are a family of hormones that comprises testosterone. Exposure to these substances can result in damage to human health, such as liver cancer, and to the environment.

High throughput screening system for engineered cardiac tissues

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2023
Introduction: Three dimensional engineered cardiac tissues (3D ECTs) have become indispensable as in vitro models to assess drug cardiotoxicity, a leading cause of failure in pharmaceutical development.

The effects of entrepreneurship education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Entrepreneurship education ranks high on policy agendas in Europe and the US, but little research is available to assess its impact. To help close this gap we investigate whether entrepreneurship education a?ects intentions to be entrepreneurial ...

Degradation Mechanisms in PEM Water Electrolysis: Diagnosis and Impact

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review provides an analysis of degradation mechanisms in proton electrolyte membrane water electrolyzers (PEMWE), focusing on all key components. It discusses diagnostic and measurement techniques for evaluating degradation, less‐studied mechanisms, and an expert survey.

Functional and Structural Network Disorganizations in Typical Epilepsy With Centro-Temporal Spikes and Impact on Cognitive Neurodevelopment

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (ECTS) is the most common form of self-limited focal epilepsy. The pathophysiological mechanisms by which ECTS induces neuropsychological impairment in 15–30% of affected children remain unclear.

Engineered Living Systems With Self‐Organizing Neural Networks: From Anatomy to Behavior and Gene Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ectodermal tissue excised from Xenopus embryos self‐organizes into a three‐dimensional mucociliary organoid. Here, we generate a neural variant, termed neurobot, by implanting neural precursor cells. Neurobots develop mature neurons, adopt distinct morphologies, exhibit more complex motility, and respond differentially to neuroactive compounds. Imaging

Single‐Cell Mitochondrial Lineage Tracing Decodes Fate Decision and Spatial Clonal Architecture in Human Hematopoietic Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study repurposes mitochondrial DNA mutations as endogenous barcodes for lineage tracing in human pluripotent stem cell‐derived organoids. Integrated with transcriptomic and spatial data, it reveals NOTCH‐mediated stromal‐progenitor crosstalk orchestrates clonal dynamics and spatial zonation during early hematopoietic development, offering a non ...
