Eddy current testing of AGR fuel cladding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The scope of the presented study was to investigate feasibility of Eddy Current Testing (ECT) for detection in storage of inter-granular attack (IGA) cracking and general clad thinning of irradiated fuel cladding from Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors (AGR ...

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...

Material Nondestructive Evalution by Eddy Current Testing

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2005
Eddy current method is one of many methods of nondestructive testing. The aim of nondestructive testing is prevention of equipment breakdown without any impact on equipment operation.

RFC Eddy Current Probe Tests

open access: yes, 1986
An automated, computer controlled inspection system is being developed under the Retirement for Cause (RFC) Program. This inspection system is responsible for the reliable detection of flaws of critical sizes in an assortment of locations and orientations on multiple disks and spacers in the fan, compressor and turbine sections of the F100 aircraft ...

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.
