Simulation of Gain flattening 32 channels EDFA-DWDM Optical System [PDF]
The gain flatness of EDFA plays a very critical role in DWDM system applications in all optical network design. The main purpose of this paper is to achieve gain flatness for 32 channels in order to equalize amplitude gain of DWDM system. This system is

Strain Imaging of GaAs by Stimulated Raman Scattering Microscopy
Telecom‐wavelength stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy is developed for high‐throughput, nondestructive characterization of gallium arsenide (GaAs). By overcoming optical absorption limits of conventional Raman systems, this technique enables precise visualization of LO phonon frequency variations (< 0.2‐cm−1$$ {}^{-1} $$ precision).

Toward Highest Frequency, Phase‐Sensitive Electric Field Sensing Enabled by Plasmonic Circuits
An electromagnetic field sensor using an optical sensor head for distortion‐free, high‐sensitivity measurements with potential for high‐frequency operation is presented. The frequency response is enabled by an antenna‐integrated plasmonic modulator. The sensitivity is calculated, and optimizations to obtain thermal‐background‐limited sensitivity are ...

The miniaturization of metrology and precision spectroscopy systems requires robust, turn‐key microcombs with broad bandwidth, low threshold, and high efficiency. Here, high‐Q, dispersion‐engineered microresonators in a high‐confinement nonlinear SiC platform, combined with waveguide‐enabled thermal management and laser cooling, enable deterministic ...

Suppression of Transient Gain Excursions in EDFA’s [PDF]
In this paper a comparative study of two pump control schemes for suppressing transient gain excursions in EDFA’s is presented. The first control scheme is based on the traditional feedforward/feedback control, while the second scheme is new and uses multiplication to combine the feedforward and feedback blocks.

Stimulated Forward Brillouin Scattering in Subwavelength Grating Silicon Membranes
This work proposes a novel strategy to achieve large Brillouin scattering with independent control of the optical and mechanical modes using subwavelength silicon membranes. We experimentally demonstrate remarkably high Brillouin gain, resulting in an on/off Stokes gain of 3 dB and anti‐Stokes loss of 4 dB in a 6 mm‐long waveguide with 35 mW of on‐chip

Ultrahigh‐Order Harmonic Mode‐Locked Optoelectronic Oscillator
This article demonstrates a record‐breaking microwave frequency comb generator using an ultrahigh‐harmonic‐order mode‐locked optoelectronic oscillator. By integrating dual recirculating loops into a low‐coherence system, the researchers achieved a harmonic order of 956 with superior noise suppression.
