All-graphene edge contacts: Electrical resistance of graphene T-junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Using ab-initio methods we investigate the possibility of three-terminal graphene "T-junction" devices and show that these all-graphene edge contacts are energetically feasible when the 1D interface itself is free from foreign atoms.

Edge contact analysis for power transmission gears using tooth-flank-film elements

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
The present paper describes edge contact analyses for power transmission gears using tooth-flank-film elements, which have been proposed for finite element analyses of tooth stresses.

Investigation of the asperity point load mechanism for thermal elastohydrodynamic conditions [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
The rolling contact fatigue damage called pitting or spalling develops more frequently in surfaces with negative than positive slip. Since normal line loads do not cause any tensile surface stresses this investigation considers the effects of small point

Effect Mechanism and Performance Evaluation of Flange Contact Thermal Resistance in an Aero-Engine

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
According to the discontinuous structural characteristics of a gas turbine, by considering the contact thermal resistance of the rough surface, a contact thermal resistance measurement experiment was conducted in this study.

Privacy Preservation of User Identity in Contact Tracing for COVID-19-Like Pandemics Using Edge Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Pandemic and infectious disease outbreaks put pressure on health authorities and require lockdowns. These outbreaks, which strain limited healthcare resources, must be swiftly controlled and monitored.

The study of contact properties in edge-contacted graphene–aluminum Josephson junctions [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2022
Transparent contact interfaces in superconductor–graphene hybrid systems are critical for realizing superconducting quantum applications. Here, we examine the effect of the edge contact fabrication process on the transparency of the superconducting ...

Local Thermometry of Neutral Modes on the Quantum Hall Edge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A system of electrons in two dimensions and strong magnetic fields can be tuned to create a gapped 2D system with one dimensional channels along the edge.

Voltage-controlled Group Velocity of Edge Magnetoplasmon in the Quantum Hall Regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the group velocity of edge magnetoplasmons (EMPs) in the quantum Hall regime by means of time-of-flight measurement. The EMPs are injected from an Ohmic contact by applying a voltage pulse, and detected at a quantum point contact by ...

Dynamic wetting and spreading and the role of topography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Hoffman-de Gennes law, which relates the edge speed, ve, to the dynamic and equilibrium contact angles q and qe by ve µq(q2 -qe 2 ). When the liquid wets the surface completely and the equilibrium contact angle vanishes, the edge speed is proportional to

Edge Contact for Carrier Injection and Transport in MoS2 Field-Effect Transistors.

open access: yesACS Nano, 2019
The contact properties of van der Waals (vdW) layered semiconducting materials are not adequately understood, particularly for edge contact. Edge contact is extremely helpful in the case of graphene, for producing efficient contacts to vertical ...
