Effect of Contact Geometry on the Contact Stresses in a Flat with Round Edge Contact
The blade-disc dovetail interface in an aero-engine compressor is characterized by a non-uniform pressure distribution which can be obtained by an equivalent flat with round edge-on-plate configuration.

One-dimensional edge contact to encapsulated MoS2 with a superconductor [PDF]
Establishing ohmic contact to van der Waals semiconductors such as MoS2 is crucial to unlocking their full potential in next-generation electronic devices.

Edge-Weighted Contact Representations of Planar Graphs [PDF]
Summary: We study contact representations of edge-weighted planar graphs, where vertices are represented as interior-disjoint rectangles or rectilinear polygons and edges are represented as contacts of vertex boundaries whose contact lengths represent the edge weights.

Slip at the edge of complete contacts
We describe an asymptotic method for calculating the size of a zone of partial slip at the edge of a complete contact of arbitrary edge angle and coefficient of friction. Above a critical coefficient of friction the contact remains stuck, and this critical value is explored.

In this paper Piola transformations are found that relate the Eulerian and Lagrangian external loads which third gradient continua can sustain. As shown by Gabrio Piola and Paul Germain, the most effective postulation scheme in mechanics is based on the ...

Investigation of the asperity point load mechanism for thermal elastohydrodynamic conditions [PDF]
The rolling contact fatigue damage called pitting or spalling develops more frequently in surfaces with negative than positive slip. Since normal line loads do not cause any tensile surface stresses this investigation considers the effects of small point
