Investigation of the asperity point load mechanism for thermal elastohydrodynamic conditions [PDF]
The rolling contact fatigue damage called pitting or spalling develops more frequently in surfaces with negative than positive slip. Since normal line loads do not cause any tensile surface stresses this investigation considers the effects of small point

Effect Mechanism and Performance Evaluation of Flange Contact Thermal Resistance in an Aero-Engine
According to the discontinuous structural characteristics of a gas turbine, by considering the contact thermal resistance of the rough surface, a contact thermal resistance measurement experiment was conducted in this study.

All-graphene edge contacts: Electrical resistance of graphene T-junctions [PDF]
Using ab-initio methods we investigate the possibility of three-terminal graphene "T-junction" devices and show that these all-graphene edge contacts are energetically feasible when the 1D interface itself is free from foreign atoms.

The study of contact properties in edge-contacted graphene–aluminum Josephson junctions
Transparent contact interfaces in superconductor–graphene hybrid systems are critical for realizing superconducting quantum applications. Here, we examine the effect of the edge contact fabrication process on the transparency of the superconducting aluminum–graphene junction.

Voltage-controlled Group Velocity of Edge Magnetoplasmon in the Quantum Hall Regime [PDF]
We investigate the group velocity of edge magnetoplasmons (EMPs) in the quantum Hall regime by means of time-of-flight measurement. The EMPs are injected from an Ohmic contact by applying a voltage pulse, and detected at a quantum point contact by ...

Edge contacts accelerate the response of MoS 2 photodetectors
Edge contacts are compared to top contacts in terms of the photocurrent response of MoS 2 multilayers. The faster response of the edge contacts is attributed to the predominantly in-plane direction of charge carrier diffusion.

Ballistic Josephson junctions in edge-contacted graphene [PDF]
Hybrid graphene-superconductor devices have attracted much attention since the early days of graphene research. So far, these studies have been limited to the case of diffusive transport through graphene with poorly defined and modest quality graphene-superconductor interfaces, usually combined with small critical magnetic fields of the superconducting

Contact Resistivity in Edge‐Contacted Graphene Field Effect Transistors
AbstractA great challenge is presented when metals have contact with a 2D semiconducting material because the contact resistances (Rc) induced at the metal‐graphene interfaces hinder the performances of 2D devices, and therefore low resistance Ohmic contacts need to be developed to achieve unique and high performance of the 2D devices.
