Edge-based identification of DP-features on freeform solids

open access: yes, 2005
Numerous applications in mechanical CAD/CAM need robust algorithms for the identification of protrusion and depression features (DP-features) on geometric models with free-form (B-Spline) surfaces.

A Frequency Self-Attention MIMO Network for SAR Weak Targets Denoising and Sidelobe Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is affected by speckle noise and sidelobe artifact because its inherent imaging characteristics, which affect the application in the high-level task.

How structural disorder and polyelectrolyte properties of prothymosin α enable its large interactome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, complexes of the fully disordered and highly negatively charged prothymosin α are collected, described, and discussed. Linked to its poly‐electrostatic character, prothymosin α engages a large interactome through multiple different binding modes ranging from fully disordered complexes to short linear motif (SLiM)‐driven interactions ...

MEETNet: Morphology-Edge Enhanced Triple-Cascaded Network for Infrared Small Target Detection

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Infrared small target detection is focused on accurately identifying tiny targets with low signal-to-noise ratio against complex backgrounds, representing a critical challenge in the field of infrared image processing. Existing approaches frequently fail

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.
