Comment on "Resistance of a digital voltmeter: teaching creative thinking through an inquiry-based lab" [PDF]
Teaching about measurements and showing examples of instruments' non-ideal behaviour are important in physics education. Digital multimeter input impedance analysis is perfect for this, since these instruments are easily available, precise enough, have good value/price ratio and represent modern technology. A recent paper (2018 Phys. Educ.

GPR142, a tryptophan‐sensing receptor, stimulates gastrointestinal hormones like ghrelin and is linked to inflammation regulation. Proinflammatory cytokines suppress ghrelin production, while tryptophan levels decrease via IDO1 activation. Our findings reveal that proinflammatory cytokines directly regulate GPR142 expression in ghrelin‐producing cells,

This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Alkane biosynthesis gene expression and its increased production in recombinant cyanobacteria
The transcription and mRNA structures of the alkane biosynthesis genes ado/aar were analysed in the representative cyanobacteria PCC 6803 and SK1‐2‐1, which produce C17H36 and C15H32, respectively. PCC 6803 transconjugants carrying these genes showed a 1.8‐ to 2.3‐fold increase in C17H36 production.

SLC7A11 frequently migrates faster in SDS‐PAGE. The present study found that the high hydrophobicity of SLC7A11 causes its anomalous migration in SDS‐PAGE with a low concentration of acrylamide gel. Replacing isoleucine with asparagine reduced hydrophobicity and restored its normal migration at 55 kDa, revealing the role of hydrophobicity and gel ...
