Mixture of Edwardsiella tarda specific Bacteriophage and Bacillus subtilis KM-1enhanced bactericidal activity against Edwardsiella tarda [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of fish pathology, 2013
The present study was performed to investigate an antibacterial activity of specific bacteriophage (phage) and Bacillus subtilis KM-1 (B. subtilis) mixture against Edwardsiella tarda (E. tarda). An appropriate number of phage showing the most effective antibacterial activity was 2×10⁵ PFU/㎖ with 1×10⁷ CFU/㎖ of B. subtilis 36 h post incubation.

Isolation, identification, and pathogenic potential of Bacillus cereus from diseased big‐belly seahorse Hippocampus abdominalis

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Members of Bacillus cereus have been documented as important bacterial pathogens in aquaculture. However, scarce information is available on B. cereus isolates as causal pathogens of big‐belly seahorses Hippocampus abdominalis. In the present study, a B. cereus isolate (SH1), recovered from a disease outbreak on a seahorse farm, was identified

Antibiotic Resistance Genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Heavy Metal Contamination in Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus): A Public Health Risk Assessment in Bangladesh

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Species‐specific 16S‐23S ITS and antibiotic resistance IntI, blaCTX‐M, blaTEM and blaSHV genes of Klebsiella pneumoniae were detected, and most of the isolates were multidrug‐resistant. Target hazard quotient values of Fe for >1 revealed a higher level of hazard index. Target cancer risk values of Fe exceeded the recommended value (<10−4).

Polynucleotide Sequence Relatedness in Edwardsiella tarda [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1974
Relatedness among strains of Edwardsiella tarda was determined by using interspecific deoxyribonucleic acid reassociation followed by chromatography on hydroxyapatite. Relatedness was also assessed among E. tarda and representatives from all other established genera of the family Enterobacteriaceae. Twenty strains of E. tarda from five countries and 11
