A wavelet-based Gaussian method for energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrum

open access: yesHeliyon, 2017
This paper presents a wavelet-based Gaussian method (WGM) for the peak intensity estimation of energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF). The relationship between the parameters of Gaussian curve and the wavelet coefficients of Gaussian peak point is ...

Investigating Technology and Raw Materials Source of the Archaic and Classical Architectural Terracottas From the Athenaion in Castro (Apulia, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 512-526, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Since 2000, archaeological excavations have brought to light the sanctuary of Athena in Castro (Apulia, Italy), including terracotta roofs dated between the 6th and 4th centuries bce. Based on their morphological and stylistic features, it is suggested that the terracotta items were manufactured in the Greek colony of Taras (modern Taranto ...

Evaluation of EDXRF for the Determination of Elements in PM10 Filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) was compared to Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) for the measurements of elements in particulate matter (PM10). Lead (Pb), arsenic (As), nickel (Ni) and cadmium (Cd)) and the ones included

Cellulose Acetate Fibers With Infiltrated ZnO Nanocrystals: Activation of Antibacterial Properties Against Acne vulgaris by Oxygen Plasma Treatment

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
We present biodegradable cellulose acetate fibers infiltrated with ZnO nanocrystals for Acne treatment. Fibers produced by centrifugal spinning were vapor‐phase infiltrated to contain uniform ZnO nanocrystals. Oxygen plasma treatment enhanced the fibers´ wettability.

Low-Dilution Limit of Zn_{1-x}Mn_{x}GeAs_{2}: electrical and magnetic properties

open access: yes, 2013
We present the studies of electrical transport and magnetic interactions in Zn_{1-x}Mn_{x}GeAs_{2} crystals with low Mn content 0 \leq x \leq 0.043. We show that the ionic-acceptor defects are mainly responsible for the strong p-type conductivity of our ...
