Solid Ethanol as a Renewable, Low‐Toxicity, Electron‐Beam Direct Write, and Biomedical Material
3D ice lithography (3DIL) enables the fabrication of intricate submicrometer objects using ethanol as a renewable starting material. This study combines process optimization, structural and material analysis, and biomedical applications, from cell culture scaffolds to the patterning of neurostimulation electrodes, demonstrating performance in both in ...

Garden eels are elongated zooplanktivorous fish that live in colonies on sandy bottoms, often adjacent to coral reefs. Each eel digs its own burrow, from which it partially emerges to forage on drifting zooplankton while being “anchored” with its tail ...

Indium substitution in Ag2Se nanocrystals simultaneously tailors electronic structure and lattice dynamics. Fermi‐level upshift and band‐gap narrowing enhance electrical transport, while defect‐induced lattice softening intensifies phonon scattering and suppresses lattice thermal conductivity.

Bi2O2Se/Bi2O5Se bilayer heterostructure exhibits reversible structural evolution during device operation, directly revealed by atomic‐scale investigation. Oxygen vacancy redistribution governs filament formation and rupture, enabling stable multilevel resistive switching and synaptic‐like behaviors.

Simulated effects of hydroelectric project regulation on mortality of American eels
American Fisheries Society Symposium 33We used six years of silver-phase American eel Anguilla rostrata catch data from a weir on a Maine river to determine if river flow and rainfall were predictive of eel migration timing and simulate operational ...

The weakly‐solvating TFMSPyr electrolyte tailors the Li+ solvation structure by suppressing solvent coordination and promoting anion‐dominated solvation. This unique solvation environment induces preferential anion decomposition at electrode interfaces, forming robust inorganic rich S/CEI.

V2CTx MXene as a Sacrificial Promoter for NiFe Catalyst for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers
These findings demonstrate that V2CTx functions beyond passive conductive support as an active electronic participant whose structural legacy sustains durable performance even after vanadium leaching in Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Electrolysers. ABSTRACT Nickel‐iron layered double hydroxides (NiFe‐LDH) show excellent activity, their poor conductivity

Fluorescence of European glass eel (Anguilla anguilla L.) under ultraviolet light
The existence of ultraviolet (UV) biofluorescence in nature has been documented in a wide range of flora and fauna. Biofluorescence is utilised throughout biological and ecological functionality, and although invisible to the human visual perception ...

First occurrence of the eel parasite Paraquimperia tenerrima in lake Balaton, Hungary
The parasite fauna of the eel has been studied regularly since the first imported eels were introduced to Lake Balaton in 1963. Over a long period of time no important parasitic infections were recorded. However, the importance of nematode infections has
