A low-energy effective Yang-Mills theory for quark and gluon confinement

open access: yes, 2011
We derive a gauge-invariant low-energy effective model of the Yang-Mills theory. We find that the effective gluon propagator belongs to the Gribov-Stingl type and agrees with it when a mass term which breaks nilpotency of the BRST symmetry is included ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Rain-Gauge Network Evaluations Using Spatiotemporal Correlation Structure for Semi-Mountainous Regions

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2014
A reliable network of rain gauges is a crucial component of rainfall estimation in a watershed. To provide a better evaluation method for rain-gauge networks, a new evaluation method using average inter-gauge correlation coefficients (averaged CC) for ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Self-assembled dendrimer polyamide nanofilms with enhanced effective pore area for ion separation

open access: yesNature Communications
Membrane technology using well-defined pore structure can achieve high ion purity and recovery. However, fine-tuning the inner pore structure of the separation nanofilm to be uniform and enhance the effective pore area is still challenging.
