An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Evaluation of drying parameters and sorption isotherms of mint leaves (M. pulegium)
This paper deals with sorption isotherms and drying kinetics of mint leaves (M. pulegium). The sorption isotherms have been determined using a static gravimetric method and then fitted by GAB, equation at 30, 40 and 50 °C over a range of relative ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Lattice Boltzmann Method for mixtures at variable Schmidt number
When simulating multicomponent mixtures via the Lattice Boltzmann Method, it is desirable to control the mutual diffusivity between species while maintaining the viscosity of the solution fixed.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Soap films as two-dimensional fluids: Diffusion and flow fields
We observe tracer particles diffusing in soap films to measure the two-dimensional (2D) viscous properties of the films. We make soap films with a variety of water-glycerol mixtures and of differing thicknesses.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An Estimate of the Isopycnal Diffusion Tensor Based on Particle Statistics [PDF]
The quality of eddy ux-gradient parametrizations in models with coarse resolution depends on whether the generated diffusivity is similar to that of reference solutions produced by eddy resolving models.
