Numerical Investigating of Flow and Discharge Coefficient Over the Duckbill and Oblique Weirs [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های زیرساخت‌های عمرانی, 2019
For a given channel width, duckbill and oblique weirs have longer effective length, and this could be effective on their dis-charge coefficients and efficiency. In this study, we tried to examine the role of some of the hydraulic and geometric parameters

Effect of Standardized Electronic Discharge Instructions on Post-Discharge Hospital Utilization [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Internal Medicine, 2011
Several physician organizations and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) support compliance measures for written discharge instructions. CMS has identified clear discharge instructions with specific attention to medication management as a necessary intervention. We tested the hypothesis that implementing a standardized electronic ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Text messages improve pain management post-discharge from the paediatric emergency department

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2013
Recognition and alleviation of pain should be a priority when treating ill and injured children in the Emergency Department (ED). Optimising analgesia in paediatric patients post-discharge remains a challenge. The increasing accessibility of mobile phone

Contact Glow Discharge Electrolysis: Effect of Electrolyte Conductivity on Discharge Voltage

open access: yesCatalysts, 2020
Contact glow discharge electrolysis (CGDE) can be exploited in environmental chemistry for the degradation of pollutants in wastewater. This study focuses on the employment of cheap materials (e.g., steel and tungsten) as electrodes for experiments of CGDE conducted in electrochemical cells with variable electrolytic composition.

KDAC6 alters cell morphology and motility through positive and negative modulation of F‐actin distribution

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KDAC6 has been associated with cell motility and actin structures, but specific domain contributions are not established. The two catalytic domains have differential effects on motility and F‐actin regulation, affecting cortical F‐actin density, motility, stress fibers, and cell spreading.
