Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Accurate nucleon electromagnetic form factors from dispersively improved chiral effective field theory

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
We present a theoretical parametrization of the nucleon electromagnetic form factors (FFs) based on a combination of chiral effective field theory and dispersion analysis.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Study on influence of superimposed effect of gas extraction in downhole drilling

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
In order to better reveal the change of effective extraction radius and the influence of extraction superposition effect on the extraction effect in the process of coal seam gas extraction, a three-dimensional coal seam gas-solid coupling model is ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Optimization and Application of Drilling Parameters Based on Gas–Solid Coupling Simulation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The layout of directional high-level long boreholes in fracture zones for extracting pressure-relieved gas from goaf is a key technology to address the gas concentration exceedance in upper corners.

Ultra-High-Pressure Hydraulic Slitting Pressure Relief and Penetration Enhancement Technology and Equipment for Soft Coal Seams

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
There is a “bottleneck effect” in the extraction process of ordinary boreholes. It is crucial to enhance the permeability of the boreholes. In this paper, a set of ultra-high-pressure water jet-based drilling and slotting integrated equipment was ...

Extract a directionally-dependent effective capillary radius in porous membranes for wicking prediction in lateral flow assays

open access: yesMaterials Today Communications
This study introduces a computational framework for determining a directionally-dependent effective pore radius in porous membranes, enabling precise predictions of capillary-driven wicking behavior, particularly in lateral flow assays (LFAs), a type of medical rapid test widely used for point-of-care testing.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...
