Effective Field Theories for Heavy Quarkonium

open access: yes, 2005
We briefly review how nonrelativistic effective field theories give us a definition of the QCD potentials and a coherent field theory derived quantum mechanical scheme to calculate the properties of bound states made by two or more heavy quarks.

Spin-charge separation for paired Dirac fermions in (1 + 1) dimensions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study Dirac fermions at finite density coupled to a complex pairing field assumed to obey scalar field theory with quartic self-repulsion. The bulk of our work develops the mathematics that elucidates the propagation of fermionic excitations in such ...

Soft bootstrap and effective field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The soft bootstrap program aims to construct consistent effective field theories (EFT’s) by recursively imposing the desired soft limit on tree-level scattering amplitudes through on-shell recursion relations.

Constraining effective field theories with machine learning [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
An important part of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) legacy will be precise limits on indirect effects of new physics, framed for instance in terms of an effective field theory.

Caustic Formation in Tachyon Effective Field Theories

open access: yes, 2004
Certain configurations of D-branes, for example wrong dimensional branes or the brane-antibrane system, are unstable to decay. This instability is described by the appearance of a tachyonic mode in the spectrum of open strings ending on the brane(s). The

Relativistic Corrections to Nonrelativistic Effective Field Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we develop a formalism for studying the nonrelativistic limit of relativistic field theories in a systematic way. By introducing a simple, nonlocal field redefinition, we transform a given relativistic theory, describing a real, self ...

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Chern-Simons-matter theories at large baryon number

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We study SU(2) Chern-Simons theories at level k coupled to a scalar on T 2 × ℝ at large baryon number. We find a homogeneous but anisotropic ground state configuration for any values of k on the IR fixed-point of those models.

Effective field theories with instantons [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1994
We explain how nonperturbative effects can be systematically included when constructing an effective field theory. We concentrate in particular on the matching calculation, by which a low energy theory without a heavy particle degree of freedom is matched onto the full theory.

Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.
