Reservoir Permeability Evolution during the Process of CO2-Enhanced Coalbed Methane Recovery
In this study, we have built a dual porosity/permeability model through accurately expressing the volumetric strain of matrix and fracture from a three-dimensional method which aims to reveal the reservoir permeability evolution during the process of CO2-

Creep characteristics and constitutive model of coal under triaxial stress and gas pressure
Creep behavior is one of the most important mechanical behaviors of coal. In the present study, we systematically carried out a series of creep experiments of briquette samples under triaxial compression and gas pressure.

Asymmetric response of a jammed plastic bead raft
Fluctuation-dissipation relations have received significant attention as a potential method for defining an effective temperature in nonequilibrium systems.

Technical solutions to prevent heat stress induced crop growth reduction for three climatic regions in Mexico [PDF]
In the last 15 years a significant increase in greenhouse area has occurred in Mexico, from a modest 50 hectares in 1990 to over 2,000 hectares in 2004. The rapid increase in greenhouse area is a result of an attractive export market, USA. Mexican summer

Stress Effect of Antilymphocyte Serum [PDF]
Antilymphocyte serum prepared in the rabbit against guinea-pig lymph node cells produces a sustained weight loss when injected into normal guinea-pigs over 14 days, compared with a very transient loss produced by normal rabbit serum. Antilymphocyte serum also produces a much greater increase in plasma cortisol level than normal rabbit serum.

Effective anchorage stress of prestressed tendons in PC girders under varying tensioning sequences [PDF]
In current design codes, the standardized anchorage stress of prestressed tendons in concrete girders is uniform, which presents a notable challenge in accurately assessing the effective anchorage stress of girders with varying span lengths.

Hope as a Source of Resilience in Later Adulthood [PDF]
This research provided a preliminary investigation of how variations in trait and state hope are associated with positive adaptation to stress in later adulthood.

High-temperature QCD and the classical Boltzmann equation in curved spacetime [PDF]
It has been shown that the high-temperature limit of perturbative thermal QCD is easily obtained from the Boltzmann transport equation for `classical' coloured particles. We generalize this treatment to curved space-time.

Stress amplification effect of lung [PDF]
Under a blast or impact load, rapid movement of the thoracic wall generates stress in lung, a foam-like structure of high compressibility, which is different from general solids. Due to this unique characteristic, it is hypothesized that when lung is subjected to a blast or impact load, there will be an initial low stress progressively developed into a
